Chesterfield designed sofa was commissioned by Phillip Stanhope, the 4th Earl of Chesterfield in England for sitting in his courtyard. This sofa was reserved for sitting exclusively for the royal guests and visiting dignitaries. This sofa has a distinctive style – deep buttoned, tufted leather upholstery and low seat base with equal arm and back height. Subsequently this sofa became the most disquinshed charm over the years as it signified luxury, premiumness and aristocracy. With the British empire becoming a world wide presence during the colonial rule, this sofa got prominence and got distributed world wide by the British Royal army and soon became worldwide peerless emblem of British style. The Victorian era saw the chesterfield designed sofa as the focal point of royal living room of British home where the gentle man relaxed on the 3 seater sofa while the lady sitting in the high back Wing chair - knitting.

1) Indigenized : The sofa is made as per the Indian requirements keeping in view the Indian customers. Normally the European sofas of Chesterfield design are of low seating height of 400 to 420 mm. But in Majesta, the seating height is 480 mm keeping In view the Indian anthropometric data .
2) Comfort : Europeans prefers firm seat because of their body structure but Indian customer prefer soft seat with sinking feeling . The seat is made of soft foam of density 28 kg/m3 which enhances comfort and cushioning with sinking feeling.
3) Craftsmanship : Clean and intricate craftsmanship in perfect symmetrical lines, developed by Indian craftsman adds to a touch of premiumess and aristocracy and also adds Indian fervor. Careful stitching of buttons on the leather upholstery with intricate tufting to maintain consistency and grandeur.
